Matisse

Matisse is a black Westphalen.  He stands 17 hands.  He was an excellent upper level dressage horse, competing mainly in Fourth Level through Intermediare I.  A member of the barn herd, Matisse loves people and is very popular with the visitors.  Born in 1983, he retired to Ryerss in January 2005.

Monkey

Pick to Win is a bay Quarter horse.  He stands 15.2 hands.  Born in 1973, Monkey was a very spirited and much-loved trail horse who lived in the Glenmoore (Chester County, PA) area most of his life.  Enjoying the companionship of the same owner for more than 20 years, Monkey took his owner on many unforgettable trail rides to places like the King Ranch in Unionville, Valley Forge Park and Marsh Creek State Park.  In July 2001, Monkey retired to Ryerss Farm.

Olivia

Olivia is a chestnut Thoroughbred.  Born in 1983, she stands 16 hands.  Found in a swamp of mud up to her knees, Olivia was rescued by Large Animal Protection Society (LAPS).  She was one of eight horses living at a poorly ran farm.  LAPS rescued four that were in the worse condition, including Olivia.  A large dent between her eyes can lead one to imagine what Olivia must have endured.  After she was rescued, Olivia first was adopted as a trail riding horse; but that didn’t work.  Within approximately one year she was returned to LAPS.  She then found another home for approximately three years before returning to LAPS.  A third adoption only lasted a few months.  Due to soundness issues,  Olivia retired to Ryerss in August 2002.  Her friend is War God.

Otter

Outrageous Otter is a bay Percheron and Thoroughbred cross.  He stands 15.3 hands.  Born in 1982, Otter showed in eventing and dressage prior to retiring to Ryerss in June 2002.  He is often seen in the pasture with his buddies, Jamaica and Sidney.
